Meet Dr. Gafencu

Sarah Gafencu, DDS, better known as Dr. Sarah, developed a passion for dentistry when she would go to her dentist as a young child. She was so sure she wanted to pursue dentistry, she confidently turned to her dentist told him, “You know, I’m going to be your dentist one day.” That statement inspired many chuckles in the office. After much work and dedication, Dr. Sarah graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with her Doctorate in Dental Surgery in May 2023. She is happy to have accomplished her lifelong dream of becoming a dentist. Before dental school, she attended Wayne State University where she graduated with a Bachelors in Sociology. 

Dr. Sarah’s enthusiasm for dentistry stems from the opportunity to share with patients her compassion for people and building relationships, her love for science and art, and her devotion to maintaining healthy smiles. She values honesty and clear communication, and she makes it a goal to connect with her patients by building trusting, empowering relationships.

Dr. Sarah is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She enjoys learning new things and stays up-to-date on evidence-based practice.

When out of the office, Dr. Sarah enjoys spending quality time with her family. She especially enjoys jigsaw puzzles, cooking, and trying new foods with her siblings.
